Choreographic Season 2015 - KARST at New Zealand School of Dance, Wellington. 15 to 23 May 2015. The choreographic talents of New Zealand School of Dance students are showcased in this annual performance season. Stepping out of the theatre, eleven final year contemporary dance students have created dance pieces to be performed in an immense public space. The architectural environment is changed in atmosphere and perspective by theatrical multimedia components as the show progresses. Still Dancing celebrated the 45th anniversary of the New Zealand School of Dance in 2012. The exhibition has had three shows. The 'Body' exhibition features 22 large-scale prints from studio sessions with students from the New Zealand School of Dance. It was first exhibited at Toi Poneke Gallery, Wellington NZ in September 2009. The Residents inhabit a distressed, deconstructed world, with doors that float and staircases that lead to nowhere. A place where they come together by chance, uncovering mystery, chaos and creation through movement. Presented as the New Zealand School of Dance’s annual Choreographic Season, The Residents is a theatrical, curious and technically impressive dance show. 'And Then It Moved', the New Zealand School of Dance's Choreographic Season. Te Whaea Theatre, Wellington. 15 to 25 May 2013. Every year contemporary dance students are challenged to choreograph their own piece in their final year. They have collaborated with composer Thomas Press, cellist and composer Charles Davenport, and voice artist Flo Wilson, along with lighting and costume students from Toi Whakaari: NZ Drama School.
